Document 7.[After Action Report.] |
|
The After Action Report for the 326th AEB written by Major Edwin Snyder. Note on October 5, 1944 for Baker Company, "Captain Froemke was killed while moving across an open field to aid a wounded man". In George Koskimaki's book, "Hell's Highway", the author used this same report but took out "to aid a wounded man" because he had an eye witness from How Company/506th PIR saying Captain Froemke asked where the Headquarters of H Company was before his fatal venture onto the field. I talked on the phone with George about this and I really don't have a problem with it because that could be what the Captain was doing.
Some of the After Action Report for October 5, 1944 from the 506th PIR.
