[Letter from Gen. McAuliffe.]

This letter, hard to read due to the effects of the 1973 fire at the St. Louis facility, was signed by acting Commander of the 101st, Brig. General Anthony McAuliffe. Note the date of December 26, 1944, when the 101st was in Bastogne surrounded by German forces.
